It's fair to say there's plenty of brilliant telly to sink your teeth into at the moment, from Strictly Come Dancing to the Celebrity Traitors. However, if you're after something with more seriousness (and no, we're not referring to Alan Carr draped in a lengthy black robe), there's one BBC drama that's got viewers absolutely raving.
Blue Lights is a Northern Irish police drama series set in contemporary times and centred around the fictional Blackthorn police station in Belfast. The show follows three rookie police officers working for the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI). Directed by Gilles Bannier, the series made its debut on BBC One on March 27, 2023.
However, it's the recently aired third series from last month that's got people singing its praises across Reddit.

Over on the Pilot TV Podcast forum, which boasts 1.2million members, one viewer declared the third series is particularly "slightly underrated".
They went on: "I have just finished series 3 of Blue Lights and for me it's the best one yet, the show just gets better and better. The characters are written with so much heart. I also feel it's a perfectly paced show with 6 episodes being just the right amount.
"For me the show strikes the perfect balance between the crime plot and leaving enough time to show the lives of the team and their relationships with one another."
The fan even suggested the series deserves far more acclaim and should be picking up "all the awards". "Don't get me wrong, I love Line of Duty, but I actually feel this recent series of Blue Lights was even better than the last couple from LOD," one viewer shared.
"I also don't remember seeing Blue Lights appearing on too many end of year lists - including Pilots."
The fan then suggested that Blue Lights should be aired weekly on BBC.
Their post quickly gained traction, with numerous other viewers echoing their sentiments.
One agreed: "I finished series 3 last night and I agree, it was the best. The tension I felt every time someone got in a car, the dramatic nail-biting moments. Honestly, no idea how the characters don't all have PTSD with what they went through in these 6 episodes!"
"For me, it's right up there with Line of Duty right now. Really excellent."
Another chimed in: "Incredible show. Deserves all the awards. Great ensemble cast. Unbearable tension."
